Oh Hey!

That's me Jen, I’m the founder & maker here at Gingersnap Threads located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. When I’m not buried in fabric or at my sewing machines, I like to spend my time with my family & friends. I’m a mom of boys, a wife and a self taught sewist. I have a passion for crafting & helping others. My goal is to provide the best customer service, along with excellent products that you can cherish for years to come.

  Our Story

Gingersnap Threads was created in August 2018. The name came pretty naturally as I myself am a Ginger & have a fun outgoing personality. The threads part is the bond in my creations. I’ve always loved creating but was very nervous about sewing machines & the thought of sewing my hand, largely outweighed my temptation for years. When my second son was 4 months old, my sewing journey began. His teething came fast & furious with so much drool, we needed bigger bibs asap. Being the go-getter and crafty person I am, I thought, why not - I can totally try and make them! So I set my fear aside and borrowed my mothers old sewing machine and watched some YouTube videos - And voila, I actually did it. 

After many YouTube videos and a few Introductory courses about fabric types and stitches, I got my very own sewing machines and went down the big rabbit hole of sewing and all the fun fabrics.  My family & friends were keeping me busy & supporting my makes with clothing for their children & gifts to give. I’ve now taken over my basement & loving life creating beautiful functional clothing & accessories.
